Engaging with Industry Members, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other government and Center Partners, Mr. Bottan establishes relations, facilitates collaboration, and identifies potential for new research that addresses current and future DHS needs. Mr. Bottan is also engaged in the promotion of the Center’s research and promotes technology transition to industry.
In prior positions, Mr. Bottan was involved in non-intrusive inspection technologies for DNDO, CBP, TSA and Customs and logistic organizations around the world. He consulted with industry and the U.S. Navy on technology transfer, outsourcing, and other executive/management best practices.
Earlier, he worked in various technical and managerial capacities in the oil & gas, pulp & paper, chemical, water, food machinery, and IT equipment/services, promoting highly engineered equipment and systems worldwide.
Mr. Bottan is passionate about new technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. An Industrial Engineer (University of Buenos Aires, Argentina), he is specialized in Chemical Engineering (Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden), and holds a M.Sc. in Management from MIT Sloan, Cambridge, MA.
