Raytheon Company and Pendar Technologies, LLC have partnered with the ALERT Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Center of Excellence to aid DHS Science & Technology in developing machine learning-based decision support tools for airport security screening. These tools are focused on minimizing the cognitive load on transportation security officers performing secondary screening at airport security while enhancing secondary screening capabilities. This collaboration represents a shared commitment to finding innovative solutions to homeland security challenges.
In support of this effort, ALERT is convening a group including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), industry, and technical experts to evaluate and design a curriculum for training machine learning-based decision analytics tools. This curriculum will include both training materials and datasets based on their knowledge and investigations.
The partnership aims to deliver impactful solutions that enhance security and safeguard the traveling public by fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
